SCIENTIFIC DISCUSSIONS IN THE ANALYSIS OF ARTISTIC AND PUBLICISTIC GENRES IN MODERN MEDIA LINGUISTICS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the discussion of the analysis of the artistic and publicistic genres of modern media communication. The specificity of variant approaches to their research is clarified from the point of view of functional stylistics, practical stylistics, media linguistics.

The argument is argued that the evolution of the civilizational paradigm in connection with the technical and, later, information revolutions is projected to replace the specifics of cognition of the world. That is why the media are in constant search of the means and methods of influencing the language consciousness of recipients relevant for a certain time, cultural and information space, which is verbalized in the multi-genre, multi-format text structures of the media field. Their heterogeneity and polyfunctionality are determined by various extralinguistic factors, that motivate the specificity of the intralinguistic resource of the mass media sphere and the variant approach to its interpretation. In this regard, today's media space with its range of functions, genre and style dominants goes beyond the traditional understanding of publicism, which as a result causes discussion and disagreement in the analysis of media genre system. Therefore, attention is paid to the contradictions in the interpretation of the concepts "publicist", "publicistic", motivated by temporal and spatial criteria.

Attention is also focused on the fact that the language nature of media communication genres and media genre system relies on the analysis of the genre category as a functional and structural organization of language units in the aspect of extralinguistically motivated intentions of the communicative situation. It is commented author's position on the peripheral nature of artistic and publicistic genres in modern media communication. It is suggested to analyze them as interstyle or intergenre formations, and interpret media genre in connection with the current functions of the language, agreeing the subjectivity of media linguistics with the tasks, requests and intentions of modern communication.
